No School Today is celebrating an Indian Summer with this brand new release from Kris & Bus: An ode to seasons, sunshine and surnames, Summer starts off as a chillin'-by-the-edge-of-the-pool cocktail, brimming with tangy, refreshing sparkle and bite. But all that shines has a shady side - this season metal-plated bikinis, barbed-wire beachballs and rabid Summer camp hosts are on the agenda. A dark, pounding rhythm, tense, nervous vocals and ragged guitar riffs give this particular Summer its overheated edge. You'll be gasping for ice-cubes in the midst of Winter - its Summer all year round.
Very little is known of Kris and Bus themselves. Legend has it, they met in a remote corner of Anges in France: One day they collided as one of them was careering down the mountain on a hay-laden cart, while the other was heading directionless into the fog. Together, they resemble a slightly tilted, provincial love on a Sunday, advancing towards us in an armoured white Rolls, wearing garish colours and sporting infinite, upward-pointing quiffs.
